Shamati I Heard
by
Yehudah Ashlag
Sandra Armstrong
, March 09, 2009
Shamati, which in Hebrew means "I heard" is a collection of 243 articles. Each article started as a handwritten page in a notebook belonging to Rav Baruch Ashlag (the Rabash). The son of the 20th century's foremost Kabbalist, Rav Yehuda Ashlag (Baal HaSulam) the Rabash wrote down lessons and wisdom he learned from his father in that notebook, learning from it and eventually using it to teach his own students. One of those students became his personal assistant, Rav Michael Laitman, and the night before he died, Rabash handed Laitman the notebook, telling him to learn from it. Rav Laitman carried out the command of his teacher and has been a teacher of authentic Kabbalah, using the wisdom passed down from Baal HaSulam in that notebook, as the basis for the Kabbalah he teaches today. The translation and production of that notebook into this lovely paperback book shows the dedication and love by which the contents have been given to humanity. Each article of Shamati is a glimpse into the spiritual attainment of Baal HaSulam, and offers the reader guidance, inspiration and clear direction as one travels on the path. This is a book of remarkable depth of wisdom, and will help the reader in many situations where a connection to greater knowledge and attainment is desired. Always at my bedside and in my carry-on bag when I travel, Shamati is a dear companion that never fails to provide the answers I seek.

Attaining the Worlds Beyond: A Guide to Spiritual Discovery
by
Michael Laitman
Sandra Armstrong
, December 20, 2008
Rav Michael Laitman has taken the difficult subject of how to attain spirituality and broken it down into sections that give the reader the ability to begin to comprehend the scope of the subject. This book enables one to explore the true meaning of spirituality with the help of an authentic guide who comes by this knowledge through the long teaching lineage of Kabbalists. With this book, it is possible to put oneself on the path by following the method and steps that Rav Laitman outlines. This is not a book that talks about how to make this world better, but it tells us how we can begin to transform our nature, which is what we must do in order to achieve the spiritual world. By transforming ourselves and attaining the spiritual we can learn how to be in balance with all of nature and creation. I have referred to this book many times when I had questions, needed clarification of a point or inspiration. This is one book I carry with me when I travel and one that stays on my bedside table.
