A beautiful story of redemption and love. Set in New Mexico, the story is timeless. You don't have to be an animal lover to appreciate the elegant and simple prose, but knowing animals will deepen your understanding. A home run for a debut novel. I hope it's made into a screenplay!

Really explains how we could move from 2 terms of Bush to Obama overnight. Starts the politics of religion back with the Puritans and shows how that matters today. On top of that, a great read! My family and students couldn't put it down.
