Jayber Crow

Vintage Berry. Here he fills in the character of Jayber Crow, town barber in Port William...We follow his development from orphan, to scholar, to back country barber to a rich community of friends. Humor and suspense weave through the narration as we come to know the story of the people and the land. A fine novel, among his best.

Andy Catlett: Early Travels

Another segment of Berry's Port William clan is filled in with this book on young Andy Catlett. Lots of fun in this young boys journey to stay with his grandparents (both sets) on Chistmas time during WW II. Berry has a fine touch for that line between sentiment and humor. This is a good clear portrait of a time of deep respect for others and the land. Vintage Berry
