This was probably my favorite summer read. I was drawn to the subject matter and the photo of the hiking boot on the front--didn't we all have a pair like this in the 70s? I was engaged from page one, drawn to learn more about the PCT, and I'm still wondering about her feet! Cheryl was unflinchingly, refreshingly honest and utterly, humorously human. It was a wonderful summer read and I highly recommend it.

I was so at home in "Coop"--not because I'm from Wisconsin or because I've raised chickens or pigs, but because Michael Perry tells this reflective, funny, tender, "good 'til the last drop" story so well. I lingered a long while after closing the book.
