Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. The Devil in Pew Number Seven

I thought that "Amish Grace" told a very moving account of forgiveness but this book far exceeds that. Having been a pastor, now retired, I have gottten my share of slings and arrows, lies and gossip. With my wife and 4 children and the dog all in harms way, I don't believe that I could have survived as this family did. Truely she has the Grace of God and amazing courage to relive it all now for us.

I am from the South. She has captured all of the subtle parts of life there then and still somewhat now. Deserves the highest award.

Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know

After reading this book I have become a companion to my Yorkiepoo, Doxie. We communicate better, our walks are no longer "drags" and I am learning to let her be a dog. After 12 years together I am sure that her "golden" years will be much better than the previous 11 were. I have given the books to my children and to friends.
