Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. A Game of Thrones: Song of Fire and Ice 1
by
George R R Martin

A game of Thrones was hard for me to pick up because of all the hype. Everyone says, "ohmygods, you should read it, RIGHT NOW." Sometimes they just want me to read it so I'll watch the show (I always read before watching), but often they honestly think it's something I'd enjoy. Well, my friends know me well, because I LOVED it. Martin may be a bit dry for some readers, but he's descriptive and his prose rolls off the tongue. I would not recommend this book for someone who lacks patience during the slow parts, but I swear there is amazing action that keeps it all moving.

I love Lackey, and this was the first of the 500 Kingdoms books that I've read, and it was aMAZing!
