Every once in awhile a book manages to capture the essence of something you have been searching for. A quiet unassuming book that brings to life the search for something bigger that we all secretly yearn for. The ultimate grown up "quest" book.

Of all the books I read in 2011, this remains my favorite. The characters were clear and crisp. The story line kept you on the edge of your seat. A bit of historical romance meets fantasy for grownups!

First time reader of this author. The characters and story line kept me on the edge of my seat and make me anxious to go back and read the rest of the series. Good read if you like mysteries and thrillers.

Discovered this author by accident after seeing the new series on PBS. Great read. Aurelio Zen is a detective worth discovering.

At first I wasn't sure if I would like this book. But once it caught my attention it was a page turner to the end. If you like history mixed with fiction with some interesting twists this book will captivate you.

This is the first book in a long time that has kept me riveted to my seat. The characters and the story come alive from the first page and I couldn't decide whether to devour it all in one sitting or savor it over a few days. In the end I decided to savor it over a few days.
