Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

Hahaha! Many people really, REALLY, love the Twilight Series. When I first read it, I was like, "What a selfish ***." But then, it gets more, and more interesting. Yes, the writers way of writing it is kind of crappy and stuff, but not all writers are great. Right after reading the third book, there was only one thing, that I want to know: What would their child be like? Of course, I seen two of the Twilight saga movies so far, but what I really, really want to see, is Edward and Bella's child. I don't care if Edward dies. I don't care if Bella went and got plastic surgery. All I want to know and see is how their child turned out like. Overall, this series, I believe its ok. If you just like to read, then this book is good to read out of boredom. I read it becuase I like to imagine. And I like fantasies like vampires and wolves and all sorts of stuff.

Vampire Academy: #1

Bless those who can write! When I first read Vampire Academy novels, I ended up reading the 4th book. When I started to read the fourth book, I was like, "What an interesting way to start off a story-beginning where a heroine, Rose, is on a rampage looking for her lover just to kill him." When I went to buy what was to be the second book, I suddenly realized that, there were "other" volumes. As I looked at the covers and price on it that also shows what volume it is, I was like, "Dude! I bought the wrong one!" But that didn't stop me from reading it. So, I went and bought the first, second, and third book. Everything then, became really clear of Rose's situation. And now, I really, REALLY!, want to read the 6th book. I recomend this book to anyone. If you have a very, very huge imagination when reading books like this, you can never, I mean, NEVER, get bored. You'll want to read it again and again, and maybe even go out and find other books thats related. And so far, out of...two vampire novels I've read so far, Vampire Academy is the only one, I enjoy, and relate to the most.
