Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

This is one of the most entertaining books I've ever read. Artemis Fowl for grown ups. Bad language, bad behavior and Eoin Colfers very keen sense of wit make for a very entertaining read. NOT dirty, NOT vulgar but, NOT for kids. Seriously, I laughed my a..... ,well, you know what off!!

This is Sandra Boynton at her BEST!! A favorite of my grandkids for sure. Leave it to Sandra Boynton to teach them the word "dentafrice". Also, if this book isnt cool enough on its own, you can download a free track of the book being sung by an accapella group. (the Snouter Limits) The little ones dance and sing along (or try their best) EVERY time. Its just GREAT fun. I cant recommend it enough!!

Music Lesson A Spiritual Search for Growth Through Music
by

Victors shares the way he relates to and with Music in just about every possible way. He does that through a fictional tale about a young man and his mysterious teacher. I think that every person that reads this book will be affected differently but, you will be affected. This book literally changed the way I look at, hear and feel about Music. And I dont even play an instrument. You will be awakened, enlightned and enriched. I HIGHLY recomend this book to anyone that loves music.

Wolfsbane

The sequel to Patty's first book, Masques,(that has just been revised and reprinted)that has just been released for the first time. I read Masques and Wolfsbane back to back and what a great read. Wolfsbane is a coming home story of sorts with characters that you become "connected" with from the beginning. I really enjoyed her use of magic and how it works in this story. I must say also that this is "appropriate" reading for anyone. If you like Patty's Mercy Thompson books, I think you'll like this too.
