Once again sheriff Walt Longmire pursues the evil criminals through the mountains of Wyoming providing the reader an amazing adventure with unforgettable characters in an amazing setting. Craig Johnson is a skillful author who weaves in references to classical works, complex plot twists, and down to earth horse sense. More, please.

Junkyard Dogs

This is the sixth book in the series of Walt Longmier mysteries set in northern Wyoming. The cast of characters includes Walt's best friend Henry Standing Bear and deputies Victoria Moretti and Santiago Saizarbitoria. The setting is the stunning Wyoming of now-a-days. Craig Johnson is the extremely well-educated author who manages to include subtle classical references in pleasant, ordinary dialog and situations making their discovery such a pleasure. His characters are based on people he really knows and they behave sometimes in familiar ways and at other times in startling ways. The plots are complicated but easy to follow and often include incredibly funny events. The author often appears in Portland bookstores. Don't miss him. He's amazing!
