Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. This cookbook is a treasure- one that your stomach, eyes and heart will be forever grateful for. Highly recommended regardless of your diet. The pictures and stories alone are worth the purchase, not to mention the delicious recipes.

This book is charming! What a pleasant collection of irresistible prints. The book is filled with crafty projects for every skill level, and includes tear out prints and a DVD with artwork that is ready to be used for all your crafting needs. For the aspiring designers, the book also includes well documented instructions on designing your own textile prints. Another inspiring book from the publisher Stewart Tabori and Chang.

Alabama Studio Sewing + Design A Guide to Hand Sewing an Alabama Chanin Wardrobe

This is one of, if not the most, inspiring hand craft books that I own. It is fascinating to read about the process Natalie Chanin uses to create her signature wardrobe look. The pictures are stunning with tons of examples of the variations of design that can be implemented with their techniques. I enjoy flipping through the pages on days when I need a jolt of inspiration. The patterns are also awesome for building your own wardrobe- which you can make as basic or complicated as you'd like. I would highly recommend this book to craftspeople (of any background), people interested in making their own clothing (or just sprucing up the clothing they already own), or anyone looking for a wonderful resource of inspiration. Even if you are not interested in making your own clothing, this book is worth picking up for the pictures alone.

I enjoyed reading this book because I liked hearing about knitted pieces being used in everyday life. It reminded me how practical and essential this craft is. I knit everyday and I too find comfort with each stitch. This book is a quick read that sheds light on one knitters journey through a life that has been strung together with yarn

Homemade Pantry 101 Foods You Can Stop Buying & Start Making
by

This is the cookbook I have been searching for for years. I read it cover to cover, and it has changed the way I think about preparing food. I have long considered myself to be a pantry cook, rather sheepishly at that, but it never occured to me that I could make all (or most) of the ingredients that I use from scratch. It made me rethink what it means to be a pantry cook. I find it very useful to know how long each of the recipes will keep. The images and the anecdotes in this book are very thoughtful. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is concerned about where their food comes from, and I think many people will find it an easy guide to start making everyday items from scratch, or to maybe just pick up a few new recipes.
