Color Blind The Forgotten Team That Broke Baseballs Color Line
by
Tom Dunkel
Brian Smith
, May 26, 2013
What a wonderful story to complement this year's celebration of Jackie Robinson. Author Tom Dunkel provides a well-researched and stirring account of a 1930's integrated semi-pro baseball team based in, of all places, North Dakota. The team, featuring the legendary Satchel Paige, put together a national championship season to remember that helped pave the way for "42" a decade later. It will make you stand up and cheer.

A suspenseful, haunting story inside a little understood society. Chief Inspector Gamache and his assistant, Jean-Guy Beauvoir, of the Surete du Quebec are wonderful, smart and sensitive creations.
