Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. This was by far the best book I read in 2012. The whole "A Song of Ice and Fire" series is incredible, and this is my favorite book. Full of action, plot twists, and the most shocking scene in a novel that I've ever read. (Those who have read this book know of what I speak). I highly recommend this series, but be prepared to lose a year of your life to the fight for Westeros!

By far, the best book I read this year! GRRM has ruined other fiction for me - I now expect other authors to kill off major characters at a moment's notice, and it just doesn't happen. I honestly care about these characters, because I honestly don't know who's going to survive! Highly recommended. (However, any potential readers should be warned that this book would be rated R if it was a movie - definitely not for kids.)
