Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. I Know Someone Who Uses a Wheelchair (Understanding Health Issues)
by
Sue Barraclough

, December 24, 2013
How do you rate a book when all you can see is the front cover of the book? Well, I use a wheelchair and I can see that by the front cover of the book, she(the author) I presume uses her wheelchair a lot differently than I do. I use my wheelchair around my apartment by pushing it around with my feet and arms. It looks like she can only use her arms and she is quite possibly wheelchair bound. I can get around in my wheelchair very easily. I can maneuver my body getting in and out of it with not much trouble. I'm assuming that she has a lot of trouble in maneuvering her wheelchair. I would like to hear how she copes with her wheelchair in day-to-day endeavors. It would probably put me in a better frame of mind. Perhaps alleviate my depression and put me back on track to being a better person, just by reading the front cover of this book.

I'm glad you brought to my attention again. I must have missed it when it came out in 1963. I'm looking forward to reading it.
