Lovecraft Middle School 01 Professor Gargoyle Tales from Lovecraft Middle School 1
by
Charles Gilman

Professor Gargoyle brought back my child like love for reading. Recently I've been in a reading slump, where nothing gets finished. So I turned to a children's or Middle Grade book. When I found Professor Gargoyle on the shelf I was instantly drawn in by the creepy but awesome 3D cover image. I really enjoyed the concept behind the story and I believe that Charles Gilman is an amazing new talent. He created characters that I instantly connected with, and a story that was suspenseful, fast paced and left me seriously wishing I had bought The Slither Sisters- Book two.

Wild About You by Kerrelyn Sparks is one of those unforgettable books. While reading this book I couldn't put it down and read it within a matter of days. I truly and fully connected with the characters to the point where I was jumping up and down with joy over their destined relationship finally playing out. Ms. sparks has created a magical world with her Love At Stake series and Wild About You is one of my all time favorite novels of 2012!

Harlequin Desire #2173: An Inconvenient Affair
by
Catherine Mann
Alicia Jespersen
, July 24, 2012
With sketchy pasts both of Catherine Mann’s characters fall into a love that will consume their hearts. Troy Donavan is the ultimate playboy, he knows how to play his cards right, and he lives a life of parties and girls. Well at least that’s how the media see’s him. The truth is he is a man trying to repay his debts and make a difference in the world. Troy and Hillary Wright are brought together to help catch the second man in a scheme to steal money from some of the richest socialites. The problem is the leader of the bad guys team used to be Hillary’s boyfriend, and she can’t see past the way the media paints troy as a bad boy. I found this novel to be one of sweet and steamy romance. This is a romance that quickly blooms into a free fall of the heart and true love. Hillary and Troy seem completely wrong for each other but the spark between them ignites a story of intrigue and emotional awareness that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. This being the Debut novel in Catherine Mann’s latest series to arrive in August I couldn’t help but set aside previous projects and read it! Catherine Mann’s books have always had an amazing reputation and a great following; “An Inconvenient Affair” made me an instant fan of her writing style and characters. This book was collage of sweet romance, well developed characters and storyline, and a tropical beach read. I found myself telling the characters how can you NOT see that he/she loves you, and you are meant to be together?!?! If there is one novel that you will read before the end of summer it has to be Catherine Mann’s “An Inconvenient Affair”! It for one is an amazing debut novel and two it is the start to a new and wonderful world where only the Alpha Brotherhood can ignite passion, love, and inspiration in the characters and the readers alike.

Forever & a Day Lucky Harbor 06
by
Jill Shalvis
Alicia Jespersen
, July 14, 2012
I loved "Forever and a Day"; Jill Shalvis sure knows how to write a fun contemporary romance with just enough pull for the reader to instantly fall in love with the characters. This book is number six but can be read as a standalone. I have read "Simply Irresistible" the first Lucky Harbor novel so I was familiar with the small town of Lucky Harbor. There was barely any mention of previous characters so this book is as good a place to start as any. But if you are anything like me, and can't not start from the beginning then go check out "Simply Irresistible". "Forever and a day" is a light hearted romance that hooks the reader from the first page. With characters that warm your heart, and make you feel for their problems. You can't go wrong with this sweet summer read! The characters of “Forever and a Day” are complex, bull headed on Anna and Josh's parts, and capable of loving anyone who will return the favor. Grace is the adopted daughter of incredibly talented and successful parents. They have always wanted their daughter to be successful, but never stopped to ask if the things they set out for her were really what she wanted. I loved that Grace found herself in Lucky Harbor like many of Ms. Shalvis's characters. On the other hand Josh knows who he is but never gets to spend any time with his family. With a tough past Josh is just looking for someone who will take care of his family while he is at work. But what he wasn't expecting was that Grace would not only be taking care of his son, sister, and antichrist dog, but she would be the one person that he would let take care of him. Josh had me from the first page; he had the looks, the brains, and the heart that comes with an Alpha's soul. He would never let anything bad happen to his family or the ones he cares about and I loved him for that. Of course he had his "stupid love" moments like Ms. Shalvis's characters likes to say, but he was quick to realize his mistakes. What are you waiting for? Josh and Grace are waiting to accept you into their world with open arms. Go on…. go get your copy today! I wrote this review originally for Night Owl Reviews.
