Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Please, do not ignore this email. I am the great granddaughter to Ashel Curtis. My parents were upset, when i gave them this book: Vision of the First Americans. This is not a joke, there is information in this book, that is incorrect and needs to be corrected. I was always taught by my grandma (Betty Curtis) Ashel Curtis daughter to make things right if they were wrong. Edward Curtis is my Great Uncle, my dad looks just like him, you need to contact us so that we can give you the correct history of our beloved.

Hello My name is Penelope Parra (McCullough) I am the daughter of Michael McCullough his mom, my grandma Betty Curtis (McCullough) daughter of Ashel Curtis and neice of Edward Curtis. Edward Curtis's son (Ivan Curtis) is still alive. This author has incorrect information, I gave a copy of the book Visions of the First Americans by Don Gulbrandsen. Mr. Gulbrandsen, has the story all wrong. He should contact the son of Edward Curtis and or my father and find out the facts, the book really upset my dad. My grandma, would flip if she read this book. My parents have some really awesome stories to be told, they are related and know the facts. I just would like to see the correct information in books, I really enjoy the work he did in the book, but some of the pictures are not Edward Curtis, they belong to Ashel Curtis. There was an on going struggling between them. Please have him contact my dad Michael McCullough, he is the son of Betty Curtis and she was the neice of Edward Curtis. Her dad was Ashel Curtis, there is a lot of photos and misplaced stories here. Ashel Curtis, is also worth writting about. He wanted his ashes scattered on Mt. Reiner, he was burried in an urn and it is believed that spirits struck the urn and his ashes were scattered anyway. If you want to know more, ask the experts. You can contact me
