Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. Filter Bubble What the Internet Is Hiding from You

This is perhaps one of the most important books of the decade. Explaining how Internet filtering of search result, will result in further disengagement from the many issues, filtering out what some robot programming thinks we want to hear, not what we should be hearing or seeing. It suggests, and I believe, it will create a totally divided country rather than a true democratic society.

The New International Economic Order: A Bibliography
by
Tawfique Nawaz and Lsi

, January 21, 2012
NEW WORLD ORDER BIBLIOGRAPHY This includes many of the documents that came under the title The new international economic order : a selective bibliography published by the United Nations under titles as THE NEW WORLD ORDER back in 1980. Titles in the series include such things as "The redistribution of the wealth of the U.S. to third world countries." It's an important reference, since much of what is going on now (2000-2011) is actually achieving these goals unspoken of by our media and politicians. President George H. W. Bush talked about the New World Order in one of his State of the Union speeches to Congress, and media pretended ignorance of what he was referring to, when just that same month, within about a week, a well publicized three day conference on "The New World Order" was taking place sponsored by the Council on Foreign Affairs in New York. Title The new international economic order : a selective bibliography / Dag Hammarskjöld Library = Le nouvel ordre économique international : bibliographie sélective / Bibliothèque Dag Hammarskjöld Pub Info New York : United Nations, 1980 Description xv, 128 p. ; 28 cm Series Bibliographical series (Dag Hammarskjöld Library) ; no. 30 [Document] (United Nations) ; ST/LIB/Ser.B/30 Note "Sales No.: E/F 80.I.15." "A selective bibliography ... covering the period from 1974 to 1980." - introductory note LC SUBJECTS Dag Hammarskjöld Library International economic relations -- Bibliography OCLC # 42073268
