I'm really looking forward to this guide. It will surpass anything we have for this region. Between myself and gifting, I'll probably buy three or four!

Western Bird Watcher

This book is great for clearing up difficulties in hard to identify groups (shorebirds and gulls are good examples). I think any new birdwatcher will quickly gain knowledge that otherwise only comes from field trips with experienced birders. Perhaps some color photos would improve the book, however the B&W photos focus your attention on patterns, shapes, sizes, and contrast. The text is clear and detailed. It is well worth the money!
