Mothers Almanac Revised

I absolutely hated this book. Not only does it tell you basically to ignore your kids for your husband and that breastfeeding is okay but only if you can't formula-feed, but the attitude of the writers is, "We know better than you, you're going to listen to us or your kids will fail in life." This is the first book review I've written that wasn't raving about the book, and I'm heavily against this book and its outdated information.

The Miles Between

Beginning this book, I was unsure whether I would continue it or not. I'm not usually into the whole 'rebellious teen' thing, but I pushed myself to finish the first few chapters. I didn't stop after that. This book is very well written and put together with a good flow. The twist at the end (which I refuse to further explain because I don't want to give away the book's ending!) was so surprising, I actually gasped out loud. I definitely recommend the book.

Challenge of Toddlers For Teen Parents Parenting Your Child from One to Three

I didn't like this book. As a 16-year-old mother to a toddler, I bought this book to try and seek some answers about how to be the best parent I can be, but it gave me nothing back. The book is basically just explains everything I already knew, such as the fact that my toddler is becoming independent. Because I couldn't have figured that out on my own. I bought the book to try and find out options on how to discipline my newly violent son, coming from another young parent's view, but there wasn't even a full page about discipline. I'm re-selling the book so I can buy a better one that will actually help me.

Such A Pretty Girl
by
Laura Wiess

This is my absolute favorite book. EVER. Laura Wiess has a way with words that make you experience how Meredith is feeling, and the struggle she goes through dealing with her father returning home. I adore how she portrays Meredith's mother as almost a villain by being on her husband's side after he raped her daughter, and even going as far as blaming her. As a writer myself, I have trouble using real-time, but Wiess makes the transition from day-to-day flawless and impeccable. In the cover of her next book, Leftovers, she says she is working on a new MTV book, and I can't wait for it to come out.
