Up Jumps the Devil

This book is about a devil unlike one you’ve ever heard/ read about. To woo the love of his life, John Scratch aka Devil tries to create Heaven on earth! Needless to say, humanity resists and throws curve balls at every turn (across various eras and centuries). It is a very well worded satire that literally made me laugh out loud at too many moments to count. If you love grey (not shades of grey) and flawed protagonists, this is the book for you. I adored it and just devoured it. It’s a must read to just relax and chill out!!

Percy's back and better than ever! I love Percy and Annabeth's banter. The story really cracked me up as it moves from a date to a monster, a god and two amusing snakes. It's a fun read for all ages. I gave it to my mom to read and in no time at all, she was laughing out loud at sooo many things! Must read.....

It's a rarity when you can say that the book was better than its predecessor! Wonderfully thrilling story. The blend of Egyptian history with a healthy dose of mystery made it a true page turner. Keeps you guessing at every turn. Absolutely recommend it as a must read!!

It's definitely one of the better thrillers I have read in the recent times. In fact, some of the last books of Ms. Cornwell had left me a little disappointed. But, she has managed to silence the naysayers once again and given us a taste of a true thriller. Hats of to her! I loved the book and recommend it to everyone.... Definitely worth it!

The Shadow of the Wind

Unusual book with many intertwined plots of intrigue. It begins at a slow pace (Till the first few pages, I kept on thinking of quitting it). But, once as the story unfolded, I was hooked. It has sooo many twists and turns that it could have made one's head spin, but Carlos spins multiple parallel tales of love masterfully. Each of them - platonic love, blind love failed love, enduring love, filial love, forbidden love, etc. is explained and depicted in an extremely sensitive manner. It's a very well written book and it certainly lives up to the hype that it has created everywhere. This one's a keeper!!

Pretty good book. I turned to it once I got hooked onto the TV Series. I must confess I wasn't disappointed. On the surface it sounds like a frivolous plot, but it's quite well written. You end up getting immersed in the lives of the four teenage girls. It's a worthy read for those who like thrillers. I loved it!
