Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Screwtape Letters

C S Lewis

My Pastor was absolutly scandilized when I referenced this book et al during a discussion on satans wiles to lure us from the path home. That's really sad as C S Lewis approach is quite witty and clever. So much so it gives one pause to ponder if your not, already one of Wormwoods victories. This is a fun read on the face of it, one needn't focus on the deeper meanings/dogma to thourghly enjoy it.

Youre Only Old Once A Book for Obsolete Children

I was unaware of Dr. Seuss writings for the (way more) mature person. This is a "MUST HAVE" for anyone who is bewildered at finding they have become an adult...(OH HORRORS). The good Doctor has penned the reality that you will be expected to live down to.

First read this book when i was a child and have re-read at least once every 2-3 years (No, I am not going to give you a definitive number...smile). Ruummer Godden has a wonderful way of letting the characters go in directions they have scripted for their own little selfs with narritive wording that has you ... well, just pick this tome up and open to any page, read one sentence..bet you can't just read one!
