Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. This is the most startlingly real read about how big money steals ancestral land from the rightful occupants. I really feel that if this book were set as high school literature throughout Africa and all the other so-called third world countries it would do far more to alleviate poverty than any and all NGO's or government/corporonial poverty relief programmes. Ngugi is one of the lesser known authors who by rights should be at the top of every best-selling list as his books are so totally absorbing and easy to read without being at all 'simple'.

Not that I've read it bit it is an excellent idea. I just love it when I stumble upon REAL activists on the web. Not politico's misleading people with undeliverable promises but people doing real stuff to help us stand up for what's left of our rights. Here in South Africa we have a political party called EFF. Economic Freedom Fighters. It started off as a movement to liberate us from this (cow-poo)called the economy but then they invited Juju to be the leader (He was not the founder which is what WikiP says) and now they have become a political party promising to give the people everything they will never be in a position to give. Found you bunch by googling that lot so at least some good did come of it.
