The Night Belongs to Fireman
by

I received this one from Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. First I must say that I have read all of Jennifer Bernard's Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel books and this one is another hit! As part of a series I'd suggest you read all the books in order, but it is not a must. You can read this one as a stand-alone but you will feel closer to the whole clan if you read them in order. I loved this one. Fred is adorable. There's a touch of suspense added in to keep things moving along nicely. The story overall is fast-paced and engaging. I found the characters believable and enjoyable. The setting as with all the San Gabriel books, makes you want to visit San Gabriel. If you enjoy firemen, romances, and great characters this is one you aren't going to want to miss. Once you start it'll be hard to put down so be sure you can read for an extended time. I highly recommend THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN to one and all! *Review cross posted on MyBookAddictionandMore.com*

In the Air Tonight

I received this book for the purpose of an honest review. I have to start off by saying that I'm not normally a fan of first person stories, but Lori Handeland is an exception to that rule. Her stories have first person moments but there are third person as well and somehow it works. I'm not sure how. It just does. With IN THE AIR TONIGHT we start a new series, fans of Ms. Handeland's NightCreature Novels will find another set of characters to adore and cheer on. This is the story of one girl, one from a set of triplets. We walk with Raye as she learns who she is, and where she came from. Bobby is the other half of this story, he's haunted in more ways than one and we watch as he comes to understand his place, not just in life but in Raye's life. I have to say the characters were engaging, realistic and completely wonderfully well written. They quickly become "real". The setting is fun and fascinating, I found I wanted to visit the location myself! The story is fast paced, thrilling, at times funny, at times heart wrenching but always enjoyable. Fans of Lori Handeland's Nightcreature Novels know that Lori Handeland always delivers with great stories and characters, and they may just recognize a few. Those new to Lori Handeland will find a great novel to start their journey into her worlds. The story is one that will leave you eager for the next books! I'm already stressing over the wait for books 2 and 3. In The Air Tonight is a great read, I highly recommend for any paranormal contemporary romance fan!

Flirting with Fire
by

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.* *Review will be cross-posted to www.My Book Addiction and More.com* I'm not sure where to start with this one. FLIRTING WITH FIRE is book one in the Hot in Chicago series and starts off with some HEAT. We have several stories going on within this one, first and foremost we have Kinsey and Luke's story. But in the background you have Gabe and Brady's story (yes that's a m/m relationship that does get a hot but is handled well IMHO, more on that later.), you also have other smaller stories going on that leave you wanting to read more and knowing that these characters, Luke's sister and his brothers will get their own stories. At least we can hope so! I have to say I went into this one expecting a great read, mostly because hello it's about a hot fireman, so yeah you expect some heat. But I came away with a deeply emotional story, a fun sexy read, a story that I stayed up all night to read. The characters are fun, feisty, well written and keep you attached to the story. The setting of Chicago is fun, while I've visited Chicago I can't say how true the setting is. I can say it left me wanting to visit Chicago again (summer only). FLIRTING WITH FIRE does contain what appears to be an ongoing storyline about two men, Gabe (Luke's foster brother) and Brady. There are moments when Gabe is very open about his desire, while I won't tell you if there's even a hint of a HEA for these two I will say that it's not a tame storyline. For me while I don't read m/m romances I found Gabe too great a character to want to skip those parts of the story. For the main romance we have Kinsey and Luke. Both strong "alpha" type characters. Kinsey has been hurt and is unwilling to make decisions based on a man again. Luke likewise has been hurt by a strong woman and is thinking he needs a meek mild woman. Both learn they are wrong. Love doesn't fit any kind of set plans, it just happens, usually when we least expect it. I loved watching these two fall in love, fight, struggle with their own fears and doubts and wonder if they'd really get a HEA. Fans of hot firemen will love this one.I can't wait for book 2, PLAYING WITH FIRE. FLIRTING WITH FIRE was a great fun quick read. I loved it from beginning to end, honestly I hated to turn to the last page. I'd recommend this one to fans of contemporary romance who like heat and love.

Heat of the Moment

*This book was received for the purpose of an honest review from the author.* OMG, OMG, OMG! I was so excited to know I'd be getting HEAT OF THE MOMENT after reading IN THE AIR TONIGHT. And I wasn't let down. The series continues to get better and better if that's possible. As of now, HEAT OF THE MOMENT is my favorite of the series so far. Fans of Lori Handeland's NightCreature Novels will recognize some familiar faces. If you are new to Lori Handeland I would recommend reading In The Air Tonight first, just so you know the characters who are introduced in HEAT OF THE MOMENT, however you can start with this one and not be lost. HEAT OF THE MOMENT is Owen and Becca's story. Owen and Becca have a history, a past, one that is painful, but one the neither of them ever got over. With HEAT OF THE MOMENT, we watch as Owen and Becca reconnect while dealing with "witch-hunters". If you've read book one, you'll know that evil exists, if you haven't read book one you'll meet characters who will give you chills. There are a lot of animals in HEAT OF THE MOMENT, a wolf, a military war dog, cats, more wolves...........but then Becca is a Veterinary with special talents so we should expect to see animals. Their are some who become their own characters and who I hope will show up in book 3, they make an impact. I won't go into detail on the story because I feel so much of it needs to found out for yourself. I will say the overall story and characters are OMG worthy. I am not normally a fan of 1st person stories but with HEAT OF THE MOMENT and all of Lori Handeland's stories, I tend to forget it's 1st person. She does an awesome job of mixing 1st person with 3rd person to make for a great story. You become part of the story! The characters are well-written and intriguing. The story itself is fast-paced and keeps you engaged and eager to read more. I found HEAT OF THE MOMENT to be a hard to put down read! Fans of paranormal romances with heat, great storlylines and outstanding characters need to add HEAT OF THE MOMENT to their reading lists today! I am eager to get book 3, SMOKE ON THE WATER, I want to know what happens next! I highly recommend SISTERS OF THE CRAFT series to everyone!! HEAT OF THE MOMENT is one of those unputtdownable, up all night, eager for more reads that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Yes there is a touch of suspense, but you'll quickly figure out the bad guy just not how it will all end, this one I have to say was a surprise for me, and yes even knowing that Lori Handeland would never let me down in the HEA department I still got a bit worried and teary-eyed. If you are looking a great read with loads of great characters, from the hero Owen, and his MWD Reggie to the heroine Becca you need to pick up HEAT OF THE MOMENT!

All of Me: A Love Between the Bases Novel
by
Jennifer Bernard

, March 24, 2015
I received ALL OF ME from Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. *Review is cross-posted to MyBookAddictionAndMore.com* description I have to start off with I love Jennifer Bernard's first series, the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. So I knew this book would or should leave me smiling. However I think with All Of Me, Jennifer Bernard touched on some tough subjects, namely trust. Not just trust in others but trusting ourselves. Trust lies at the base of any love, so it's nice to see it touched on within All of Me in other ways. Caleb Hart, our hero, has not just trust issues but issues with surprises. While Sadie has her own issues with trusting men, and believe me she has a right to those issues. Both have a battle to fight to get to their HEA, some within themselves others with what life throws at them. I have to say I loved this story from beginning to end. The characters are well written and believable. The setting is wonderful and engaging in it's own way. The story flows easily and quickly. There are surprises and times you want to punch someone yourself. But mostly you'll fall in love with Caleb and root for Sadie. Fans of Ms. Bernard will find a new series to adore. Those new to Ms. Bernard's writing will find a book that is page-turningly fun, deeply engaging, and sexy enough to keep you smiling throughout the book. I highly recommend this one to any fan of Susan Mallery, Jennifer Ryan, Jill Shalvis, Emily March, and the list goes on. If you enjoy a great contemporary romance pick up ALL OF ME, you'll be glad you did!
