Outback Odyssey Adventures Of Riley

Our family has been going on previous adventures with Riley and learning so much in the process. Needless to say we were all so excited to join Riley as he visited a sheep station in the outback along with his uncle Max and cousin Alice. This book is packed with information along with breathtaking photography. The uniqueness of this series lies in the tasteful blend of real photography and stunning illustration.Without sounding preachy ,these book imparts the important message on how human action has led to imbalance and near extinction of so many species. Important text book information is provided by real scientist (cartoon sketched) and decorated by local artwork. Outback odyssey shows how cutting of the eucalyptus tress have led to dwindling koala population and increase in brush fire.Serious the subject might be ,the book ends on a hopeful note on how to reverse this trend.Kids will love to see Riley trying his hand at being a jackaroo and saving a poddy lamb from the dingoes. This book is a must have for every family who want to do their bit for the environment and learn about animal diversity in a brilliant non textbook manner.

You cant help but fall in love with Hamish(the village bobby) who also has a reputation for being a moocher. His lack of ambition make him an unusual hero who always solves the crime but let others take the credit.
