Alexandria
Alexandria

Alexandria will continue to delight the 3 million readers who fell in love with the epistolary romance of Griffin & Sabine. Awash with gorgeous artwork, the mystery of Griffin Moss and Sabine Strohem now entwines Matthew Sedon, an archaeologist steeped in Egyptian antiquity, and Isabella de Reims, a student in Paris whose vision holds the key to a new reality. Intrigue turns to danger and romance turns to passion as Matthew and Isabella struggle to make sense of a world — and feelings — beyond experience. Only the guidance of Griffin and Sabine, expert navigators of myth and reality, can keep them safe. Author and artist Nick Bantock brings a new sensuality and romance to his vivid dreamscapes and unique visual perspective. Alexandria is a breathtaking new chapter in a saga that has captured hearts, minds, and imaginations the world over.

  • "Bantock has fashioned a maddeningly labyrinthine, wildly romantic and exquisite work that reveals just how much story can be conveyed with a few well-placed words and images....The book's cliffhanger ending will only intensify the eagerness of fans for the concluding volume, The Morning Star." Publishers Weekly
  • "The quality of the artwork remains superb, as Bantock's deft handiwork and beautiful design provide more pleasure with each successive viewing." Terry Peters, The North Shore News
  • "The beauty and interweaving of modern and ancient worlds that inform all of Bantock's work are fully present in Alexandria. As are the wonderfully drawn animals, both real and imaginary." Gale Zoë Garnett, The Globe and Mail

We do have new unsigned copies available, which are also special though Michael's autograph is missing.

Summerland
Summerland
by Michael Chabon

Your Price: $22.95
New – Hardcover
Autographed First Edition
Sold Out!

For over a century, the people of Clam Island, Washington, have enjoyed barbecues and baseball games and Summerland, on the Western tip of the island, where it never rains. The small beings — known as ferishers — who ensure this perfect weather, however, are threatened by an ancient enemy, and need a hero — a baseball star, in fact — to vanquish their foe.

Summerland is the story of Ethan Feld, the worst ball player in the history of the game, recruited by a hundred-year-old scout called Ringfinger Brown, himself a Negro League Legend. Accompanied by his determined friend, Jennifer T. Rideout, and guided by a friendly werefox, Ethan struggles to defeat giants, bat-winged goblins, and one of the toughest ballclubs in the realms of magic, to save all the Summerlands, and ultimately the world.

  • "Pulitzer Prize winner Chabon hits a high-flying home run, creating a vivid fantasy where baseball is king....Chabon unspools an elaborate yarn in a style that frequently crackles with color and surprise....Devotees of the genre and of America's pastime will find much to cheer here." Publishers Weekly
  • "Chabon...constructs a uniquely American fantasy....The sprawling, vigorous narrative pulls out all the stops....This raucous, exhilarating, joyful, and, above all, fun offering displays an enormous respect for the tradition of great fantasies that come before it, from Irving, Baum, and Nesbit, to Lewis, Tolkien, and Pullman, while confidently taking its place beside them." Kirkus Reviews
  • "Committed fantasy buffs are a breed apart, but even they will have to bring their A-games if they expect to digest this ingredient-rich plot....Still, there is a good story here, semi-buried beneath the world building; maybe a trimmed-down, three-hour movie will salvage it for the more mundane among us." Bill Ott, Booklist
