A good, solid book. I bought this book after designing my first adaptive controller without knowing any formal theory. I learned what I had done and a great deal of other useful information besides.

The book is written in a clear expository manner. While it would make a good textbook for a classroom situation, it is well organized, written and complete enough that with motivation you can learn the subject just from reading the book.
