Joss Whedon (Emmy Award-nominated creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and an Academy Award nominee for Toy Story) brings his unique and multi-talented skills to Firefly, a sci-fi/western adventure series.
Set 500 years in the future, in the wake of a universal civil war, Firefly centers on the crew of Serenity, a small transport spaceship that doesn't have a planet to call home. Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), a defeated soldier who opposed the unification of the planets by the totalitarian government Alliance, will undertake any job — legal or not — to stay afloat and keep his crew fed.
Contains all 14 episodes of the acclaimed series, including three that never aired.
Review:

I am so sad that I never saw this when it was actually on the TV. I am even sadder that they will probably not make any more. What I am extremely happy about, though, is that I have seen this and there are some great extras on the DVD. We started watching the first disc and any time we were near the TV we had to stop everything and watch the next episode. It's such a campy kind of show. Lots of humor in the vein of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, but distinct in its own rite.
You will enjoy this collection. I know. Watch it soon and be very happy.
