Angel of Starlight, December 6, 2007 (view all comments by Angel of Starlight)
Released as the sequel to what is arguably the most popular Final Fantasy game of all time, 'Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children' is one of the greatest masterpieces of cult classic anime. Two years after the destruction of Sephiroth and the evil mutant Jenova, Cloud once again finds himself on a journey to save the Planet from total annihilation. Facing new enemies, encountering old friends, and struggling with guilt from long-ago battles, Cloud must overcome both his fears and his past if he wants to survive the ravages of Geostigma, a mysterious epidemic which threatens human existence.

Great game, Great movie!

although i've only played Final Fantasies 7-10, 10-2, 12, and a tidbit of Tactics (couldn't really get into the last one), i consider myself an avid lover of the series, with part 8 (Squall and friends) being my favorite since it was the one that introduced me to the series.

this is a really good movie. everything about it is top-notch to me. But there was one thing that surprised me, and that was Cloud.

What surprised me about Cloud, you ask?

well, it's simple: in my opinion, Cloud turned out to be very good-looking! and to have Steve Burton (Jason from "General Hospital") talk for him made Cloud seem even cuter and much more masculine than he looks. after playing the Playstation game, i never would've thought of Cloud being in the handsome category. i'd always imagined him to be a plain-looking man with stupid hair, a super-giant sword, a funny-colored uniform (for a man), and really big boots. but one thing did remain the same with him, and that was the fact that he had a level head on his shoulders, despite all the unnecessary guilt he was feeling.

i'm glad his computer animation in the movie was completely different

My favorite scene: I've deemed this scene "Girl Power" because, well, for a moment there, Tifa was seriously kicking some Jenova remnant ass!

P.S. I thought Reno was surprisingly cute as well. As Margarete from the game "Shadow Hearts" once said, "Who would've thunk it, huh?"
