Blade Runner - The Director's Cut (Full Screen)
Synopses & ReviewsPublisher Comments:Based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick, Ridley Scott's Blade Runner is a science-fiction classic starring Harrison Ford as Deckard, a former cop-turned-"blade runner" who is assigned the task of hunting down a band of renegade replicants (Rutger Hauer, Darryl Hannah) who have escaped to earth.
This Director's Cut features the original ending (the theatrical version used outtakes from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining) and eliminates Ford's voice-over narration, added (under great duress) after test screenings. Review:"Not since Stanley Kubrick's 2001...has there been such a complex, thought-provoking and sophisticated science fiction film....It is a prophetic and emotional tale that stands as one of the most original and intelligent science fiction films ever made." Apollo Guide
Review:"It is, in fact, an amazingly sophisticated, sumptuously visionary treatise on the consequences of attaining god-hood." Rita Kempley, The Washington Post
Review:"It looks fabulous, it uses special effects to create a new world of its own, but it is thin in its human story." Roger Ebert
Review:"[M]uddled yet mesmerizing....Science-fiction devotees may find Blade Runner a wonderfully meticulous movie and marvel at the comprehensiveness of its vision." Janet Maslin, The New York Times
Review:"Director Ridley Scott's 1982 film Blade Runner is arguably the most famous and influential science fiction film ever made." BBC
Synopsis:It was January 2021, and Rick Deckard had a license to kill. Somewhere among the hordes of humans out there lurked several rogue androids. Deckard's assignment: find them and then "retire" them. Trouble is, the androids all looked exactly like humans, and they didn't want to be found.
