Meg Cabot is back with another story of teen romance gone awry. Ellie Harrison, the daughter of two professors of Medieval studies, realizes that her new friends at Avalon High — the hunky jock, Lance, the beauty queen, Jennifer, and the student body president, A. William Wagner — are turning into characters from Arthurian legend. Too bad Ellie's named for the doomed Lady of Shallot: how will she avoid her tragic fate (and get the guy)? A flirty, sassy romp from the author of the wildly popular Princess Diaries series. Synopses & ReviewsPublisher Comments:Avalon High seems like a typical high school, attended by typical students: There's Lance, the jock. Jennifer, the cheerleader. And Will, senior class president, quarterback, and all-around good guy. But not everybody at Avalon High is who they appear to be ... not even, as new student Ellie is about to discover, herself. What part does she play in the drama that is unfolding? What if the bizarre chain of events and coincidences she has pieced together means — as with the court of King Arthur — tragedy is fast approaching Avalon High? Worst of all, what if there's nothing she can do about it? Synopsis:This latest stand-alone novel by the #1 "New York Times" bestselling author has all the wit and charm of "The Princess Diaries," but with a supernatural twist on the Arthurian legend. HarperCollins Children's Books
About the AuthorMeg Cabot is the author of the best-selling, critically acclaimed, immensely popular Princess Diaries novels, as well as All-American Girl, Haunted, and two Regency novels, Nicola and the Viscount and Victoria and the Rogue. Meg was born in Bloomington, Indiana, and her childhood was spent in pursuit of air conditioning, of which there was little at the time in southern Indiana. A primary source proved to be the Monroe County Public Library, where Meg whiled away many hours, reading the complete works of Jane Austen, Judy Blume, and Barbara Cartland. Armed with a fine arts degree from Indiana University, Meg moved to New York City, intent upon pursuing a career in freelance illustration. Illustrating, however, soon got in the way of Meg's true love, writing, and so she abandoned it and got a job as the assistant manager of an undergraduate dormitory at New York University, writing on the weekends, and whenever her boss wasn't looking. Meg lives in New York City with her husband, Benjamin, a poet, financial market writer and fellow Hoosier, and their one-eyed cat, Henrietta.
