Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

QuickTime is the core technology behind many of Apple's industry leading products and services such as the iPod, the iTunes music store, and Final Cut Pro movie editing software. Tim Monroe is a senior software engineer on the QuickTime Engineering team at Apple and author of a number of volumes in the well known Inside Macintosh series, and a contributing editor for MacTech Magazine. Tim is particularly skilled in revealing the true power of QuickTime to developers and these collected pieces describe the features, extensions, and applications of this vast technology. Tim's work contains copious code listings and inside technical tips that are highly regarded by the QuickTime community and are collected here for the first time. The first volume starts with the basic functionality of QuickTime movies and gradually introduces increasingly complex features leading up to creating interactive (wired) content.
