Mental retardation is defined as a condition in which an individual exhibits below-average intellectual abilities and immature behavior, characterized by an IQ below 70. Some studies have suggested that approximately 1% of the world's general population is mentally retarded. As such, mental retardation presents a major challenge to social, educational, health, and economic systems across the globe. This serial was established under the editorship of Dr. Norman R.
