Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Business Communication: Process and Product, 4e takes readers through a well-developed, consistently applied process approach to communication that is combined with integrated, hands-on application of current and emerging business technologies. Readers learn a process for solving future communication problems, and how to use Internet and electronic media to deliver their message, resulting in a tangible communication strategy they can use throughout their careers.

Book News Annotation:

Using dozens of case examples throughout, Guffey (business English, Los Angeles Pierce College) covers business communication at all levels, including listening and nonverbal skills, collaboration, meetings skills, presentations, and of course, business writing. The units on business writing incorporate information on basic correspondence such as e-mail, memos, letters, and sales messages, as well as reports and proposals from research and planning to organization and final presentation.

Review:

The Guffey text is well founded from a pedagogical standpoint. No one does it better than Mary Ellen.

Review:

The diversity of teaching and student supplements appears to be the most detailed I've seen with any business communication textbook. The Career Coach, Ethical Insight, and Tech Talk boxes in each chapter are unique as a way to superimpose themes throughout the text.
