A NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER

Deep in the water,

Mr. Fish swims about

With his fish face stuck

In a permanent pout.

Can his pals cheer him up?

Will his pout ever end?

Is there something he can learn

From an unexpected friend?

Swim along with the pout-pout fish as he discovers that being glum and spreading “dreary wearies” isnt really his destiny. Bright ocean colors and playful rhyme come together in this fun fish story thats sure to turn even the poutiest of frowns upside down.

My two little boys, 2 and 3 years old, LOVE this book. We checked it out from the library on the recommendation of another friend and have had it out for a week and a half. Basically, it's a story about this fish with "pout pout" lips who is really gloomy because his lips pout. He doesn't think he can be happy. But things aren't quite so, as you find out at the end of the book.

The boys have the "I'm a pout pout fish" verse memorized. They request this book every night, several times. The illustrations are adorable, and the story is delightful. I love to make the pouty faces, and then end with kissing my boys all over. It's a great book. I ordered it for my niece, who is turning one next week.
