If Carl Hiaasen set one of his novels on a residential stretch of boundary line between British Columbia and Washington, or if Richard Russo's characters had relatives in the Pacific Northwest, the result might be something like Jim Lynch's Border Songs. Continue »

Publisher Comments:

Lovable, furry old Grover is distressed to learn that there's a monster at the end of this book! He begs readers not to turn the pages, but of course kids feel they just have to see this monster for themselves. Grover is astonished--and kids are delighted--to discover who is really the monster at the end of the book!

Just seeing the cover of this book brings back so many memories of my mom and I reading this story together. Such a wonderful book that has an excellent way of enticing children to read! They don't write books like this anymore!

My daughter got this book in a McDonald's Happy Meal and loved it so much on first reading, we had to get another Happy Meal so that we could have another copy. She is now 25 and still remembers this book. Both of our original copies had been read so much that they disintegarated.

This book helped her learn to read. Great book.

This is my all time favorite childrens' book. If you are a fan of Sesame Street and especially Grover, you can't go wrong!
