About the Author

Kerry Ferris is an Assistant Professor at Northern Illinois University. She uses ethnographic methods to study fame as a system of social power. Currently, she is writing a book on the lives of professional celebrity impersonators. Jill Stein is the chair of the Social Sciences department at Santa Barbara City College. In addition to teaching introduction to sociology every semester, she studies the culture of rock musicians and the ways that they work.
