Lloyd received her B.A. from the University of Denver and her M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Arizona. She is the author of Adolescence (Harper and Row, 1985). She has served as chair of the psychology departments at Suffolk University and Georgia Southern University and is the founding Chair of the Council for Undergraduate Psychology Programs. She is a past President of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (Division 2 of the American Psychological Association), past Executive Director of the Society's Office of Teaching Resources in Psychology, and currently serves on APA's Council of Representatives for the Society.
