Publisher Comments:

The Book of Revelation has been interpreted many different ways throughout history. Revelation: Fall of Judea, Rise of the Church focuses on three concepts from Scripture: John the Baptist announced who the Messiah is, those who try to destroy the Messiah's mission will themselves be destroyed (Judea ceased to exist as a nation from A.D. 135 until recent times), and Satan will be released after one thousand years to deceive the nations. Unlike many popular interpretations of Revelation that predict a future rapture and tribulation, the author proposes that many of the predictions happened during the early Church age as unbelievers tried to destroy Christ's Church. Satan, as predicted, was released to deceive the nations one thousand years after the Church was firmly established. As a result, the world today is filled with thousands of conflicting Christian sects and with non-Christian, occult, even anti-Christian movements that have propelled humans to as dangerous a rebellion against God as the one before the flood.

Many scholars cite Revelation as proof that the Day of Judgment is at hand. They say that the end of the world is near. Is this really true?

Maurice A. Williams has a different hypothesis. In his book Revelation, he asks what if this portion of the Bible was written just before the coming of Jesus. What if these were the words of John the Baptist, foretelling the people of his time that the messiah was coming? What if the prophecies were warnings about what might come if people didn’t heed his warning?

To prove his theory, Williams takes the reader into the current events of Judea just before Jesus began his ministry. Indeed, it was a dark time and it only became worse after Christ was crucified. A thousand years later, even more changes came as foretold.

Revelation is well researched and thought provoking. It is also extremely easy to read and comprehend.
