The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales

by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Wonderfully quirky, this book breathes new life into staid children's stories. In these irreverent variations on well-known themes, the ugly duckling grows up to be an ugly duck, and the princess who kisses the frog wins only a mouthful of amphibian slime.

Review:

"A book that will undoubtedly appeal to those who know the original stories and have a good sense of the absurd." Children's Literature

Review:

"Clearly, it is necessary to be familiar with the original folktales to understand the humor of these versions. Those in the know will laugh out loud." School Library Journal

Quite a funny book, Scieszka twists well known fairytales into... well, something unusual yet interesting. A great find for the young at heart, or strange little kids.
