Synopses & ReviewsBook News Annotation:In 11 papers from a conference held in Münster, Germany in November
2003, law scholars from Europe and Canada consider obligations to
provide information to the public as an alternative to bans or
controls on substances and other consumer products and services. One
of the advantages said for the approach is that it interferes less
with national regulation during the process of European
harmonization. Among the topics are recent developments in Poland
under special consideration of the Package Travel Directive, from
truth in lending to responsible lending, EC directives for
self-employed commercial agents and on time-sharing, and duties to
inform versus party autonomy.
