forest refuges, floral biology and pollination, the uses of African
plants, and miscellaneous topics. Papers from the symposium
Phytosociology in Tropical Africa are not included. Many of the
papers are in French, but most provide abstracts in both English and
French. Among the miscellaneous topics are rheophytes of Ghana, the
progress of the Cape Verde flora, the flora of Egypt, weeds in
Egyptian farmland, seed and seedling morphology of Entada in Zambia,
