The Whites decided that the time had come for them to live their road trip dream. Once they were off on their adventure, people peppered them with questions, not so much about what they were doing (everyone has their own dream!), but about how they actually made it happen. It was with the encouragement of want-to-be traveler's everywhere that Live Your Road Trip Dream was created. Review:"[The White?s] Great American Adventure wasn?t perfect. The van needed repairs, Carol broke her ankle, and the digital camera bit the dust. [However] the tone of the entire book is warm and encouraging. The Whites take an if-we-can-do-it-so-can-you attitude that comes through strong." Lifestyles Northwest Review:"It is a good read whether you ever take the dream trip or not." The Villager About the AuthorPhil and Carol are experts on this topic. They have lived and experienced every word of Live Your Road Trip Dream. The White?s are recently retired from the everyday work world, and have begun travel writing as their new vocation. This trip was a year in the talking, learning, researching and planning stages, and a year in the execution of the actual adventure. During Phil?s 26-year career, he was a small business owner of a retail Men?s Clothing Store. He has extensive Sales and Marketing experience from that endeavor, as well as a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to run a successful business. His skills in listening to people and engaging them in informative conversation were invaluable on the trip. Carol comes from the other end of the Sales and Marketing spectrum, having retired from Lucent Technologies in 1999. Her 35 years in the computing and telecommunications fields with Lucent and AT&T have garnered her a wealth of experience. Both Phil and Carol are graduates of Portland State University, Portland, Oregon. Phil has a broad-based degree in General Studies, and Carol graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Business Administration/Marketing and Psychology. When they are not traveling, Phil and Carol enjoy golf, community activities, and most of all, their 8 grandchildren.
