About the Author
In 1978, Ina Garten left her job as a budget analyst in the White House to pursue her dream: operating a specialty food store in the Hamptons. Twenty years later, Barefoot Contessa is celebrated for its stylish charm as well as its delicious food. Ina lives in East Hampton, New York, and Southport, Connecticut, with her husband, Jeffrey.

Ina Garten is (in my opinion) the best TV chef to come along EVER! Her recipes are elegant, approachable, easy to make, and most importantly, magnificently delicious! Her food just has this great quality of being stunning and unique but at the same time being totally easy and simple. The beet salad with orange viniagrette in this book is to die for!!!!!!! I've tried lots of her recipes, both for entertaining and for regular recipes for home when it's just us, and nothing has ever disappointed. Another thing I love about her is that her recipes are so wonderful that it just inspires me to shop organically and locally, buying farmer's market produce and local chickens and eggs. I imagine (and know from watching her show) that this is what Ina would do. I will be ordering all the rest of her cookbooks very soon!
