Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1942. 25 x 23 cm., 40pp. First edition. Bound in turquoise paper over boards decorated in white; color illustrations throughout. Binding worn at extremities with some fraying to the cloth; spine faded with a few short tears to the cloth at the head; some sunning to the front board approaching the spine. Front hinge a bit loosened; gift inscription on the front free endpaper; a few light smudges to pages. Lacking the dust jacket. Winner of the 1943 Caldecott Medal. Good condition. DAM/djm Case 11
