"[A]n ingenious mixture of paranoid thriller, art history lesson, chase story, religious symbology lecture and anti-clerical screed, and it's the most fun you can have between the sort of covers that aren't 300-count Egyptian cotton....[A] hugely entertaining book." Charles Taylor, Salon.com

Review:

This story starts with Jacques Sauniere who is the Museum Louvre's curator's death. The policemen designate that Robert Langdon is a suspect in a murder when they saw him at the spot of murder. Robert Langdon is symboligist of Harvard university. So Robert Langdon is almost arrested by the policemen, but Sophie, who is the granddaughter of Jacques Sauniere, helps Robert Langdon. So Robert Langdon and Sophie follow up the scent that Jacques Sauniere bequeaths about ciphers. So they come to know about the Holy Grail (which means the cup that had Jesus Christ's blood in it), who is wife of Jesus Christ, and descendants of Jesus Christ. And they also came to know about the mess, which the Christian religion tries to defend against the Priory of Sion. Finally they find the last secret. It is that Sophie is the last of the descendants of Jesus Christ, and that Robert Langdon found the Holy Grail.
I think The Da Vinci code's theme could be about Jesus Christ's marriage version. Jesus christ preserved the Holy Grail, which is Mary Magdalene. It's a woman and she married Jesus and bear to progeny. Also her name is same as the prostitute of the Bible. This content is very defferent with the Bible's contents.
This book is kind of interesting because I never read that kind of book before. I especially like Da Vinci's art construction and Rober Langdon's reasoning competence. While I read this book, I came to know more about Da Vinci's art and symbol technology than before.

To Simon Cowell's Fan:
A movie is never better than the book.
Movies are for the unimaginative, with a book so much is left to the imagination.

And for those of you that think the book is poorly written, I must say I was too caught up in the constant cliff hangers to notice the lack eloquence in the writing. Perhaps I shall re-read and look for evidence of the critiques I have just seen, as of now though I must give it a 5.

The story is compelling, I'll give him that, but really this book is nothing more than a historically inaccurate high-speed chase. It's fun for a little while, but gets tedious and tiresome...and the cop-out ending made me literally throw the book across my bedroom. It's a search for the holy grail that finds nothing remotely grail-like.
