Publisher Comments:

The missing piece sat alone
waiting for someone
to come along
and take it somewhere....

The different ones it encounters - and what it discovers in its helplessness - are portrayed with simplicity and compassion in the words and drawings of Shel Silverstein.

Synopsis:

The wedge-shaped hero of The Missing Piece waits in vain for the right someone to appear, until a complete circle (the Big O) shows it how to gather its own momentum.

My favorite book of all time. I'm not going to lie. The first time I read it, I cried. As an adult, I didn't expect this simple child's book to have such a strong effect on me. Even though the main characters are a triangle and a circle, Silverstein's amazing ability to capture the imagination through her story telling really brings the pages to life. It's an important lesson kids and grown-ups alike must learn. Almost like a flash into the dating world, it shows a pour triangle looking for its significant other to complete it, so that it may go places. It's a wild adventure where other missing pieces are constantly coming in and out of the Missing Piece's life, but none seem to make it happy. Until the Big O comes along and teaches the small triangle that it can't go through life as a missing piece, waiting for someone else to make it happy...

Cool ! Very Good Book ! I use it in my lessons with my students ! I try to translate it to romain... and...si aceasta e o carte superba din care am invatat ca fiecare isi are locul lui, unic si potrivit in lume, si fiecare isi are rostul lui.
