Little Bitty Lies

by Mary Kay Andrews

Little Bitty Lies Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

In a suburban Atlanta neighborhood where divorce is as rampant as kudzu, Mary Bliss McGowan doesn't notice that her own marriage is in trouble until the summer night she finds a note from her husband, Parker, telling her he's gone — and has taken the family fortune with him.

Stunned and humiliated, a desperate Mary Bliss, left behind with her seventeen-year-old daughter, Erin, and a mountain of debt, decides to salvage what's left of her life by telling one little bitty lie...that starts to snowball until Parker turns up dead. Or does he?

Little Bitty Lies is a comic Southern novel not only about one woman's lifelong quest for home but also about all the important things in life: marriage and divorce, mothers and daughters, friendship and betrayal, small-town secrets — and the perfect recipe for chicken salad.

Review:

"The writing is witty and sharp....Little Bitty Lies is light and frothy as a strawberry daiquiri — and if you're in the mood for it, just as refreshing." South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Review:

"[Andrews's] sharp writing, and even sharper wit, make this a fun and flirty tale that keeps readers on their toes." Orlando Sentinel

Review:

"A breezy story fairly brimming with good spirits and feisty humor." Booklist

Anything by Mary Kay Andrews (aka Kathy Hogan Trocheck) is the perfect antidote for the blues, but Little Bitty Lies is laugh out loud hilarious! This is the perfect beach read.
Having a deadbeat husband declared dead seems like the simple solution to a huge problem. Unfortunately, the problem with lies is that you usually have to tell another one, and another....which is where the fun is. You'll be in stitches as Mary Bliss tries to save her house and her sanity. (you'll also be keeping your fingers crossed that she succeeds!)
As with the Callahan Garrity mysteries she wrote under her real name, Andrews is a master at keeping you guessing and keeping you in stitches. This is one of my absolute favorites!
