Publisher Comments:

Catholic religious of an earlier era once talked of the need for "custody of the thoughts" as an essential act of the faithful life. Author Thomas Moore refreshes that sentiment in his bestselling Care of the Soul, reminding his many appreciative readers of the sustenance to be gained from a contemplative approach to life. By this he means not some saintly withdrawal into other worlds but the heightened grasp of the sacredness at the heart of this world that can hallow the ordinary. All life is holy, he believes and believing, shows us how.
