Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Lt. Gen. Harold Moore and Joseph Galloway return to Vietnam's Ia Drang Valley more than four decades after the battle they recalled in their #1 New York Times bestseller We Were Soldiers Once . . . and Young. Renewing their relationships with ten American veterans of the fabled conflict—and with former adversaries—the authors explore how the war changed them all, as well as their two countries.

We Are Soldiers Still is an emotional journey back to hallowed ground, putting a human face on warfare as the authors reflect on war's devastating cost.

Synopsis:

In the mega-bestselling memoir We Were Soldiers Once . . . and Young, authors Hal Moore and Joe Galloway brought to life one of the most pivotal and heartbreaking battles of the Vietnam War. In this powerful sequel, they return to the Vietnam battlefield they immortalized to explore how the war changed them, their men, their enemies, and both countries. Mixing gritty and vivid detail with reverence and respect for their comrades, We Are Soldiers Still recounts an unusual homecoming in which soldiers on both sides return to the Ia Drang Valley to look back--and forward.

Synopsis:

The authors of the bestselling "We Were Soldiers Once . . . and Young" return to the Vietnam battlefield they immortalized in their first work to explore how the war had changed them, their men, their enemies, and both countries.
