Publisher Comments:

Welcome to the nightmare . . .

There is a world you don't know about, inhabited by supernatural creatures of darkness—vampires, werewolves, and all manner of savage, impossible beasts that live for terror and slaughter and blood. They are all around us but you cannot see them, for knowledge of their presence—so close and so hungry—would surely drive any ordinary human insane.

But for centuries a special breed of hunter has kept the monsters at bay, preventing them from breaking through the increasingly fragile barriers protecting our mortal realm.

These guardians are called skinners.

But beware . . . for there are very few of them left.

Review:

"Seattle video game designer Cole Warnecki takes an extreme vacation in British Columbia and ends up hunting supernatural monsters in this campy, action-packed paranormal debut. After Cole survives an encounter with a nasty werewolflike Full Blood, he lands a job with the Midwestern Ectological Group, whose Skinners act as cops for the local supernatural population. They bring him to Chicago and pair him up with experienced Skinner Paige Strobel, who gives him sound advice like 'Don't gawk at a woman's ass when she's carrying a shotgun.' Paige drags Cole into the front lines of MEG's war on insane vampire Misonyk, who infects people with vampiric spores and encourages them to drain victims dry, stealing their souls. Plenty of cinematic gore and wisecracks will keep readers coming back for future installments." Publishers Weekly (Copyright Reed Business Information, Inc.)

Synopsis:

This first book in an all-new series introduces Cole Wickham, who is violently initiated into a dark world inhabited by shape-shifting monsters and bloodsucking demons and trained as a Skinner--the humans who hunt them. Original.

About the Author

Marcus Pelegrimas graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Criminal Justice as research to become a maniacal super villain. When too many of his plans were thwarted, he went back to his first love: writing. He is also an active member of the Nevermore Paranormal ghost-hunting group. That one worked out much better than the world domination thing.

"Leave some alive" "the crazy man whispered.
I am a long time reader on this earth. I started out with King and Koontz and
have broadened my horizons with not so main stream as I find them much more of
delightful change. Plus when you get my age you run out of books to read in the horror genre.
We have some really great authors coming out lately and Mr Pelegrimas is one
of them. This book is certainly not getting the praise it deserves.
Blood Blade is packed with constant action and you will not want to put it down.
It is not like anything else I have read. Unique in its excellence.
There are creatures from other worlds thru out the story that live all around us.. But
we cannot see them. But they see and abuse us. There is a small group of people called
Skinners and they can see all these creatures and have different relationships some
friend some foe. The Skinners are on a mission to keep this worlds people safe. They
are few and the other world beings are many.

The writing by Marcus Pelegrimas is excellent. There is so much to this story you must read Blood Blade (Skinners)
